Welcome to Dunfermline and Sarasota Sister Cities Association (DSSCA) website which has been designed to provide information to the general public about the role and range of activities of the Association, part of an
International network of Sister Cities.

The Dunfermline and Sarasota Sister Cities Association was established in 2001 with signing ceremonies in both Dunfermline and Sarasota to mark the inclusion of Dunfermline in a list of International cities with a formal link to the American city. Sarasota is located on the west coast of Florida in the central portion of the State and has a population of 55,000. It is the county seat for Sarasota County. Dunfermline is located in the East of Scotland in the county of Fife, just across the River Forth from the capital city of Scotland, Edinburgh.

Dunfermline and Sarasota Sister Cities Association aims to foster international relationships with Sarasota and it’s other sister cities.
It does this by creating exchanges in the areas of culture, education, tourism, business and government. It’s objective is to develop respect, understanding and co-operation through citizen diplomacy. The Association is fully independent but enjoys the support and encouragement of Fife Council to facilitate cultural and educational exchanges, business opportunities and increased tourism.

Dunfermline and Sarasota Sister Cities Association is run by a small committee of enthusiasts with a diverse range of skills and interest.
It is always interested in meeting others who share like interests in participating in the exchange of sports, music, art and education programmes and who would like to open doors to an international
network of cultural and economic opportunities. Further details in our “contact us” link.
